on my mind . . .

Here lately there has been a lot on my mind.  Which given the situation I feel I am allowed to have a lot on my mind.

Background:  My hubby runs the Avondale:Northrop Grumman facility in Tallulah.  If you watch the news then you know they will be closing.  Have no fear, hubby still has a J O B!  Thank goodness at least.  However that job is located . . . in Pascagoula, Mississippi.  Yes that is right!  To those who are not aware of that location . . . just put it this way - it is not close enough to North Louisiana!

So now that you get the gist, there are where my thoughts have been!  I have been a big girl and not cried!  Unbelievable I know!

It is impossible to write all the things that I think about daily.  I am on overload.

I have ZERO desire to leave NLA!  Zero that is!  But for some reason I feel "at peace" about the situation.  I have promised to keep an open mind, but geez it is really hard!

So every night I pray to God that he will guide us in the right direction!  I know he will, we just have to be willing to follow his lead!

Where do I begin?

First let me start with . . . . . Barnes is 1!  Yes one year has come and gone and it was the best year of my life so far!  The amount of love and joy that little boy brings is undescribable!  He brings a love that no other will ever understand.

We woke up July 8th and the birthday celebration began!  We stared off with a birthday cinnamon roll!  It was yummy, of course.

We then got dressed and headed to Ruston for a little birthday lunch with some of the cousins, my sister and Gran and Gran Guy! 

Then off to the studio for 12 month portraits and a new family portrait!

We ended the day playing on his new 4 wheeler and then off to bed!  But not before a little cake!

Friday we woke up and quickly got dressed so we could head to Ruston and start decorating for the big birthday bash!  We decorated and gathered things all day!  With a wonderful end . . . Wal-Mart (blah)!

Saturday was the "BIG" day!  The day we have planned for the past 6 months, the one day that had to be "perfect" in my eyes.  My dad called his party a small wedding reception, not quite!  We had a great time!  Hope all that came had a great time too!

There are so many pictures, however I am not going to put them all on here!  Picture overload already!  Then there were some I wanted to add but this thing keeps rotating them and I cannot change it so . . . .

Barnes you are:
 - talking a lot!  "Mama, Da-dee, Ju Ju, Gan, Gan Guy, uh-oh, nih nih, yuck, eh eh, jush (juice), memma (Emma)"  I am sure there are more and I am lost in thought!
 - you are running everywhere!  Running, not walking!
 - you love the outdoors more than anything!
 - you wear size 4 diapers and nightime size 4 too!
 - you weigh 23 lbs and are 31.5 inches long
 - you love your sleep a lot!  you are in bed between 7:00 and 7:30 and sleep anywhere to 7:00 - 8:30.
 - you nap at home but no where else so during the week you pretty much don't nap at all
 - you have 6 teeths
 - you still love your bottles! and that is fine with me!
 - however you do love your juice too!

We love you more than anything in the world! 

This post has taken me WAY to long!  Today is Lance's Birthday so Happy Birthday!

 

in less than a week . . .

in less than a week I will have . . . . a ONE YEAR OLD!  WOW, I am just speechless!  We are steadily preparing for his birthday party and trying to decide what all we are going to to on Thursday to celebrate this little life!

I took Barnes this morning for his well check, he is almost 23 lbs and 31 inches.  According to charts, I have a tall skinny white boy! ha! and I LOVE IT!

Well I hope everyone has a great 4th of July!!!  We are headed to the lake to have a great weekend with family and friends!
