Big Week for Barnes

So this has been and will be a big week for such a little guy! Thursday we had to go get his 2 month shots. What a nightmare! Abbout 10 minutes before we were supposed to take him I totally freaked out! Cried my eyes out - it is so hard to know that you are about to do something that you know will hurt and make your baby cry! But I decided that I could put my big mama panties on and go too.

Thanks to my dad gor being the hero that I could not be. He held him and endured all of his tears and I stayed out of the room! AWEFUL! I am not sure I will ever be able to take him to get shots. I know it only can get worse as they get older. So that is over! Thank God
Today is TECH's first home game and we are so excited! Barnes cannot wait and his outfit is ready to go!

Then tomorrow to meet my mom's stepdad and my Sookie (aunt)! Big day in Shreveport for his sip and see and my SIL house! Then home to watch the Cowboys play!

GO DAWGS!

Nobody puts Baby in the corner!

Ever since I was a little girl I have always loved Patrick Swayze! Especially in Dirty Dancing! How can you not LOVE that movie?! I remember on the days that I did not go to school I would sit in the back of the studio and watch Dirty Dancing over and over and over and over . . . .

Sadly I would also cry and cry and cry and cry because I wanted to meet Patrick Swayze so incredibly B A D!!!

I do still love Patrick Swayze and still think that Dirty Dancing is one of the best movies EVER MADE! However I no longer cry while watching the movie.

About sixth months ago I upgraded my VHS to a DVD! Crazy, I know! It was rainy on Sunday so we watched all watched the Saints game (sadly could not get the Cowboys) Then afterwards Barnes and I curled up on the couch and watched Dirty Dancing! I love how you get the little butterflies in your stomach just thinking about this movie! Or at least I do!

My favorite parts are . . .
The ending dance - that part is wonderful! Then when he is lip synching "Now I've had the time of my life . . . and I owe it all to you!"

Thank you Patrick Swayze for all your dedication and hard work!

Today Barnes is 2 months! WOW how time has flown. I try really really hard to savor every waking moment with him. I love being a mama so much! Each day I am totally amazed by him, I could just stare at him all day long! He is the most beautiful thing in the world to me!
2 months of accomplishments:
You started Rice cereal
You started Bananas
You have traveled to the Beach already
You sleep 8 hours a night
You love to sleep on your tummy with supervision
You smile all the time
You are happiest in the morning
You love to be held
You love for someone to talk to you
You can hold your head up for a long time
You are truly AMAZING!
I am sure there are so many other milestones. So HAppy 2 months in this world Baby Barnes!
I am so thankful for you each and every day and cannot wait (yes I can) to see what an amazing man you turn out to be! I love you!

BIG Labor Day weekend!

Well our weekend started out great! One of Lance's best friends came in town for the weekend! So Friday night we had Hollie and Ryan, Jeremy and Emily and Spencer over for dinner. We had a great time visiting with everyone. This was Barnes' first time to meet his "Uncle" Spencer and he loved him!

Below is Barnes sitting with his Daddy and his "Uncle" Jeremy!
Below is Barnes eating Banana's for the first time - he loves them!

Saturday all the boys went dove hunting in Jonesville so me, Barnes and Emily shopped. I hate shopping for muself now but LOVE to shop for Barnes

Sunday was the day of Pop Pop's party! (Lance's dad) We threw him a 60th Birthday party at the lake. It was a great crowd and Barnes was a hit! Sorry no pictures from the party. Not sure what I was thinking. But the fish was great and so was the company!

We ended up staying at the lake and headed home on Monday. Once we returned home we were lazy lazy bums! All three of us took a great nap!

Hope everyone had a great labor day weekend!

Life as of now!

At this moment I do not think life could be any better! I have a great husband and the most precious baby boy ever, my bestest buddy Mia and well there is so much more.

- Right now Barnes is sleeping 7-8 hours a night! Oh how I am so greatful for this - S L E E P! Thank you Lord for blessing me with a baby who likes to sleep. Hope I am not speeking too soon but he has been doing this for a little over 2 weeks. We had our 8 week check up today and all is well. He is 12 lbs 3oz and 23.75 inches long. Needless to say he has only gronw 2 inches. Not that he ever had any hopes of being tall! Now we just have to take him for the dreaded 2 month shots! Actually Lance volunteered to take him alone and I am probably going to take him up on that offer.

- Our house has been on the marker FOR E V E R it seems like and nothing has really happened. We have had several lookers and no offers. Just when we decide to stay - someone is coming for a third look today, I think. Supposedly he is really interested, we shall see. Now the important part - if my house sells we have to find a house! AHH! Lots of prayers are needed that we will find and be placed where God wants us to be!
- This past week we celebrated Gran Guy's Birthday and Pop Pop's Birthday. YAY for birthday's, I love them. On Sunday we are having a fish fry for Pop Pop! It is his 60th Birthday. Here is the invitation that I created. I think it turned out pretty cute!

So that is our weekend plans. Lance is going dove hunting and I am going to do some shopping! Lake on Sunday and who knows what on Monday. I will try and post again Monday!

We've got it made!

This is the front of Barnes' Birth Announcements!

The insed of his birth announcement.

This is from the day we came home from the hospital - he is 5 days - In our family, when a grandchild comes home from the hospital Gran Guy is always there to do their first session! These are some of my favorite photographs of him!
I LOVE THIS!

This is the gown that I came home from the hospital in.

Here he is 9 days old.

Our new little family - minus Riley and Mia!

Barnes' first trip and photographs on the beach!

Now some of these completely take my breath away - well heck all his photographs take my breath away - he is truly so amazing to me!
These photographs were taken by mom - we call them Tiny Treasure. There are more of his little feet, belly, toes . . . all his sweet little parts!

This is the main reason I wanted to do these was to capture the little hairs on his ears!!

My sweet baby Barnes loves his froggie and his paci so much!

I just love this little bear hat. I bought it off of www.etsy.com! Love that website! We will definately be needing some more hats for winter!

Thank God my dad is a photographer, otherwise I would already be completely broke with buying photograps!!! I cannot get enough and definately need a new house with a LOT of wall space. I like them big! Here are a few from the sessions we have done so far!

Catching up from the last 8 weeks

Barnes on his changing table in my favorite sleep gown!

Barnes meeting hiss friend Christian for the first time!
One day maybe he can stay awake and be a little social. ha

Barnes' first time in his swing -
Sitting outside with Gran Guy watching the kids swim.

Barnes only got to wear these pajamas once ) :

I HATE this picture but this was Barnes' first beach trip at 3 weeks!
Barnes will soon learn this is his daddy's favorite place ever!

Sleeping in his pink bed at work. It was Camille's and I saw no need in changing the fabric for the short period of time that he will fit in it.

Barnes at six weeks! Watching his cartoons while I get dressed!

He smiles all the time and just talks and talks!

Almost bath, bottle and bed time! YAY!I am just so happy!

Tuesday, September 1! Now you are caught up -
There are so many stories and so many wonderful memories we have already made with him. I can never imagine loving something so much. He makes me laugh and cry and fills my heart with joy just thinking about him!

Coming Home

All our bags are packed and we are ready to go HOME! All snug in his car seat it is time to go meet the big sisters!
Mia was able to ride home with us from the hospital - I missed her so incredibly much that my parents stayed in the hospital parking lot Saturday night so I could go out and spend a little time with her in the motorhome! Needless to say she was very excited to meet her new baby brother!

Home Sweet Home! Here's to meeting two sisters and finally getting to come home to family and friends!

Barnes Robert Carnahan

So I am obviously terribly behind! But I wanted a fresh blog, with a fresh start! So me and my OCD just had to completely start over!

Barnes was born on July 8th, 2009 (07-08-09) How cool?!

He weighed 8 lbs 9 oz and was 21.5 inches long, with a head full of black hair!

Now when someone in our family has a baby - we draw a crowd and I mean 30-40 people! It is so amazing that so many people already loved him so much before he was even born! God is so good and gave us the greatest miracle ever!

This was taken on July 8th. They did his hospital picture - yes I realize we really did not need any but everyone has to have them. So anyway this was what he wore - I just love this gown!

We were scheduled to go home on July 10th but his billy rubin test came back a little higher than they wanted so sweet Barnes had to tan all day and night! We were able to feed him every three hours. Saturday we were still not able to go home! Sunday was a blessing!

Pics to come of us headed home!
